"Through such impressions one gathers oneself wins oneself back from the exacting multiplicity, which speaks and chatters there, and one slowly learns to recognize the very few Things in which something eternal endures that one can love and something solitary that one can gently take part in."     Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke

Artist Photo

My artistic journey began in the late 70s when I picked up my first SLR camera.  Although never thinking of myself as a "camera expert," I developed a good eye for composition and color.  What excited me then and what still excites me about photography, even though photography is no longer the center piece of my creative expression, is the feeling of being at one with the object I'm photographing.

At some point along the way, I began to play with paint saying all along "someday I'll pick up watercolor."  Someday took longer than I expected.  My life and career as an independent change management consultant overtook my art.   In the mid-90s I turned to a new medium - stained glass.  Today I spend most of my time with watercolor, acrylics and mixed media collage.  The thread through all of my creative work is color - I love color, good composition and the sense of stillness and peace that comes when working with my art.

I've studied with several artists and two of them stand out, Susan Herron and Kathleen Kazmierski.  I am grateful to both for their generosity, gifted creativity and talent as artists.
